The original Open Future Learning eLearning website was developed by MVP in 2012. Designed to help train those that work with the developmentally disabled, the platform includes a Content Management System (CMS) that allows OFL to populate course materials, as well as eCommerce features to facilitate purchases. The platform also includes a custom search engine optimized blog system to allow the client to continue to update the website with new content and thus attract more attention from search engines.
OFL later developed the platform into a custom mobile application developed for both Android and Apple iPad tablets. The tablet application optimizes presentation and navigation for tablet computers so that users on these devices maintain the best possible experience going through both the learning modules and the videos on demand to which their accounts have been given access. All video players were converted from Flash to HTML5 to ensure that app users have access to all course content, and other Flash programming was reengineered to ensure compatibility with the iPad's iOS operating system.
